For visitors to the Teachers College Library,
please note the following procedures:

A) Students or faculty members affiliated with a Japanese university:
  1. Contact your own university library and inform them that you wish to visit the Teachers College library.
  2. Your librarian should then contact us by fax with a confirmation letter.
  3. We will make any relevant arrangements and then reply to your library.
  4. Please verify this reply from your library and obtain your introduction letter.
  5. On the day of your visit, please bring the introduction letter.

B) English language educator or a researcher
affiliated with a foreign university or non-university institution:

  1. Please send an e-mail to me which includes relevant information such as:
    • Information on your job, position, foreign university affiliation and current program of study
    • Research purposes
    • Contact address like cell phone, home phone and working phone number
    • The date you would like to visit the TC Library.
  2. After receiving our reply by e-mail, please ask your place of work to give you an introduction letter. If you are studying with a foreign university (a distance program for example), then please make every effort to obtain this letter - if you have trouble with this though, please call the librarian at Teachers College. In some cases providing a valid university ID will be sufficient, but we need to know in advance.
  3. On the day of your visit, please bring the introduction letter from your place of work or university.
Thank you for your co-operation.
